A few years back I purchased a restored Hallicrafters SX-28 receiver.
While doing research on the history of this beautiful radio I came
upon a site describing the companion R-12 bass reflex speaker.
Inspiration for my project started here:
My cabinet closely matched the dimensions of the original and is
mostly ¾ in plywood with the exception of the sides made of ¾ inch
MDF in order to achieve the radius on the waterfall edge without
exposing the core material of plywood. The cabinet is painted in a
matte gunmetal gray similar to the original.
